SECRETS OF GOOD HEALTH

HEALTHY LIVING
Health is a state of being well and free from illness physically and mentally. A healthy person is the one who is physically strong and not likely to become ill. There is something that is associated to health. It is so peculiar that whenever health is mentioned it is weigh against it, it is called ILLNESS which means a condition of being ill i.e. when someone is suffering from a disease or not feeling well.
As the world is advancing many diseases are being discovered and millions of dollars are spent every year in curing or managing these diseases. There are some of these diseases that doctors can not cure but they can only manage (relief its effect) it. The good news here is that there is no disease that cannot be prevented instead of curing or managing it. “Prevention: they say is better than cure” It is better to stop something bad from happening than to remove the problem once it has happened.
HOW CAN WE PREVENT SICKNESS
EXERCISE
Regular exercise is a must for anyone who desire to be healthy. On the contrary to the general believe that you must get to the gym before you can perform this task, it can be done anywhere even right in the bedroom and without any fitness gadget. For low income earners who cannot afford to use the gymnasium, you can take a walk around your street or trek to a nearby shopping center where you normally go with the car. Even if you are a busy person you can also enjoy regular exercise, if you have a driver alight by the street and walk down to the house. For healthy living have at least 30 minutes exercise daily.
What regular exercise will do for you is that it will increase the rate at which your heart pump, then blood will move faster to all part of your body making all your cells to become more healthy and active.
DIET
Let your food be your medicine because you are what you eat. Research have shown that eaten a lot of FRUITS AND VEGETABLES reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood.
Let us learn a lesson from the bible. Daniel who is a Jew was among the captives who were taken to Babylon, The king then made a decree that some of these men should eat at the kings table because of their outstanding qualities but this man (Daniel) refuse to eat from the kings table knowing well that the food has been dedicated to the idol of the land. He rather took permission to be eating only fruits and vegetables. After some days he was seen looking better and healthier than the others who have been eating from the kings table. Imagine what they will be eating at the kings table.
However, let discipline be your watchword as you eat, do not be a glutton, Eat only when you are hungry, do not eat because there is food. A lot of people put themselves in trouble when they get to party they eat a lot because the food is plenty and free.
Remember too much of food can cause obesity and this lead to diabetes from diabetes to hypertension and then to stroke you can imagine what stroke will lead to.
SALT INTAKE
Experiment has shown that salt absorbs water from the atmosphere. If you put a little salt in a plate and expose it to the atmosphere after some hours you will discover that the salt is getting watery. It is not the salt that is producing the water but it is absorbing it from the surrounding, that is to say that anywhere salt goes it must absorb water,
Excess salt in the body will:
Draw water from the blood
Make you to salivate abnormally
Makes you fell tasty all the time
Give the heart and kidney more work to do which can lead to failure of these vital organs.
Let MODERATION be your watchword as you take salt. However, there are some spices that can be used as supplement or replacement for salt they includes:
GARLIC – It reduces blood pressure and cholesterol.
GINGER – It can replace salt and also reduces blood pressure
THYME LEAVES
CURRY POWDER
ALCOHOL
Alcohol, has been proved by research to be good for some organ in the body, The medical people said there is something in the red wine that is good for the heart, but this same alcohol has done more harm than good to the human race.
My candid advice is to abstain completely from alcohol. Some school of thought believe that it is okay when alcohol is taken in moderation, but there is a spirit behind alcohol that can graduate to the level of addiction which ruin career, family, and reputation. In pregnant women for instance it has a bad effect on the unborn baby which is referred to as Foetal Alcoholic Syndrome. It can also cause cancer of the liver.
Apart from the health implications alcohol is also responsible for some social vices like crime, unwanted pregnancy, drug addiction and child abuse in the society.
COFFEE
Coffee intake is common among the young and old usually when preparing for a task such as examination. It has also become a common sight in our offices. Coffee contain a substance called CAFFEINE this substance is also common in some soft drinks, energy booster drinks, kola nut.
Coffee if taken in excess can deprive you of your sleep which may result in psychiatric problems.
HEALTHY TIPS ON COFFEE INTAKE
If you must take coffee get the decaffeinated type.
It shouldn’t be more than two cups a day and
Certainly not when you are about to sleep
STRESS
Stress is a continuous feeling of worry about your work and personal life that prevent you from relaxing. There will be a particular thing in life which can make someone to become anxious or unhappy so that you think about it continuously.
Everybody deals with stress especially if you live in the city. Think about these:
Preparing for chrismas
School fees
Rent
Your child that is always getting ill
Unfaithful spouses
Harsh economy
These are few of life issues that causes anxiety, But if you think from today till tomorrow it will change nothing rather something worse will happen. If you do what you ought to do as human being you have no reason to think anymore. Leave the rest for God to settle. The book of Philippians chapter 4 verse 6 says: Have no anxiety about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.
In conclusion as much as possible everything we have discussed so far lets put them in our hearth we should not just sit down and pray for or wish ourselves good health because faith without work is nothing.

THE SECRETS OF SUCCESS

It is the will of God for everybody to live good and be successful in whatever they do.
The secrets of success is blown open in this write up please read it and follow the principles and your life, business and career will not remain the same.
Success is the achievement of what you want or intend. In other words it can also mean achieving your target goals or when you get to the peak of your career. If you have the effect or result you intended then you can say you are successful.
However, success is a thing that starts from the human mind that is “The Inner Man” God has given every man that ability i.e. the ability to think and to conceive something (Idea) into the mind.
When God created man into this world he gave him the authority (Dominion) to recreate it. That is the reason why every physical thing that you can see around was first conceived in the mind of the inventor then he works on his idea and at the end something is created that makes life better. For instance in the cell phone accessories, there is a particular part called the handset, this handset is the mindset of somebody.
Napoleon Hill says in his book “Think and Grow Rich” and I quote him “Whatsoever the mind can conceive it can achieve”
There is a time between the moment the idea is conceived in the mind and when success is achieved from it, during this time there will be some ups and downs, This factors I will reveal to you as you read on and you will see the reason why you must be successful (achieve your goals, get to the peak of your career) despite all odds.

HOW DO YOU GET YOUR IDEA?
An idea is a plan or suggestion which usually come as a result of thinking. Idea comes from God, It does not come from east, west, north or south so don’t go anywhere looking for idea, As a Christian I get my own idea during or after some spiritual exercise like praying, meditating on the word of God.

N.B: Anybody can receive from God an idea that will change his/her life or career for the best, it does not matter your level of education, even if you do not have much formal education. We have great people like Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates who does not have much formal education but made great impact in the area of leadership and innovations.
Do you need an idea that will turn your life around for the best? Get close to God and you will get it.
Let me reveal a secret that worth a million dollar to you:
If you are currently working for an organization be it government or corporate what you are doing is that you are contributing your own quota to the success (Idea, goal) of the owner of that organization. I am not condemning working for organizations, definitely not am just trying to reveal a fact.
A huge number of people going to school these days have that mentality of graduating and applying for a job. Only few, I mean very little will find out what they are destined to do.

PATH TO SUCCESS
DESIRE
You must wish and have a strong hope to be successful, after you might have receive your idea then you will always see the end from the beginning i.e. your point of success.

FAITH
This is a supernatural force that will give you a strong feeling and confidence that you will get to the point of success in whatever you do. Faith is a factor that ignites your passion.

DEFINITE DECISION
This is a very crucial point on the ladder of success as it goes a long way in closing or enlarging the gap between the moment you receive your idea and the point of success. Definite decision can make you build courage and improve your personal life you can see more on: accepting to improve your personal life  on my webpage @ www.secretsofgoodliving.com

PERSISTENCE
This is the determination to achieve your goal (be successful) despite all odds i.e to try again whenever will fail. When you fail at something that does not make you a failure it only gives you an opportunity to try again using a better option or approach until you get your desired result. We have a lesson to learn here from great inventors like Thomas Edison (The man who invented the electric bulb) He tried over a thousand times before he could get it right.
I read the story of a young girl who went to meet the owner of a farm nearby and demanded for 5cents, the farmer refuse to give her, yelling at her: I don’t have please go away” he said but this little girl insisted she want the money and will not leave until she get what she want. At this point the farmer was angry and threatened to shoot the girl if he came back and meet her there, as he went inside to take his gun. When he came back with his gun he was surprise to see this young girl still standing there, then she look at her, drop the gun, dip his hand into his pocket and gave her the 5cents. She got what she want because she was persistent.

HAPPINES! YOUR KEY TO A GOOD LIFE

Improved living through science is possible. Over the years, researchers have been inquiring happy and unhappy people, and they’re finally concluding on the factors that make a difference.
Fortunes - Money can buy a degree of happiness. But once you can meet the expense of feeding, clothe and house yourself, each extra dollar makes less and a lesser amount of difference.
Whenever and When on earth they look, researchers find that, an average, richer people are happier. But the relationship between money and happiness is complex. In the past half-century, average income has increased in developed countries, yet happiness levels have remained static. Once your basic needs are met, money only seems to improve happiness if you have more than your friends, neighbors and colleagues.
“Money can buy status, and status makes people feel better This helps explain why people who can seek status in other ways
Need- A need is something that is necessary for organisms to live a healthy life Needs are distinguished from wants because a deficiency would cause a clear negative outcome, such as dysfunction or death. Needs can be objective and physical, such as food, or they can be subjective and psychological, such as the need for self-respect. On a societal level, needs are sometimes controversial. How much stuff do you need to feel good. Take a survey t to rate peoples happiness and ask them how close they were to having all they wanted you will find out that people whose aspirations not just for money but for friends, family, jobs, health soared high compared to their other counterpart.
This “aspiration gap” might explain why most people fail to get much happier as their salaries rise. Instead of satisfying our desires, most of us merely want more. In surveys by the Roper polling organization over the last two decades, Americans were asked to list the material possessions they thought important to “the good life.” The researchers found that the more of these goods people already had, the longer their list was. The good life remained always just out of reach.
Cleverness - Merely a few analysis have observed whether smart people are happier, but they indicate intelligence has no effect. That seems surprising at first, since brighter people often earn more, and the rich tend to be happier.
Some examiners speculate that brighter people could have higher expectations and thus be disappointed with anything less than the highest achievements. “Or maybe scoring high on an IQ test — which means you know a lot of vocabulary and can rotate things in your mind — doesn’t have a lot to do with your ability to get along well with people,” psychologists speculates that “social intelligence” could be the real key to happiness.
Inheritance
Are some people born happy or unhappy? David Lykken, a behavioral geneticist and professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, believes our feeling of well-being at any moment is determined half by what is going on in our lives at that time and half by a “set point” of happiness, which is up to 90 percent genetically determined and to which we eventually return after dramatic events. “While our happiness set point is largely determined by our genes,” says Lykken, “whether we bounce along above it or slump along under it depends on our — or our parents’ — good sense and good training.”
Lykken found that genetic variation accounted for between 44 and 55 percent of the difference in happiness levels. Neither income, marital status, religion nor education accounted for any more than about 3 percent.
But whether you trek through life on the low side of your set point or skip along on the high side is up to you. Many studies have shown that outgoing person tend to be happier than most people, and a lot happier than recluse or a shy . And research has found that putting people in a good mood makes them more jovial. Research have shown that people were more talkative and open with others after watching a happy film than after watching a sad one. Theoretically, even someone with a low set point can boost his or her outlook.
